Digital Marketing/Content Manager

Dayton/Montgomery County Convention & Visitors Bureau

Reports To: Director of Marketing & Communications

Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining all information on the Dayton/Montgomery County Convention & Visitors Bureau website. Creates, schedules and deploys content across DMCCVB’s social media networks. Creates digital marketing initiatives. Position requires creativity and a detailed knowledge of the ever-changing digital landscape. 

Position Description

The Digital Marketing/Content Manager will be responsible for managing and executing the following projects and activities:

  • Responsible for content, accuracy, overall appearance, and building/expanding pages of the Bureau’s website and responsive design mobile, tablet and work station apps. Review daily to ensure that the content is current and accurate, thorough, and that the website is functioning properly.
  • Ensures that website content is consistent with Bureau’s destination marketing campaign and refreshes website content to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information and images.
  • Continually enhances the CVB website with new content creation and images
  • Establishes and posts a minimum of two guest blogs per month.
  • Stays up-to-date with knowledge of our CMS platform system.
  • Develops local community outreach social media campaigns to secure sales leads.
  • Supports sales lead generation via social media initiatives for all sales managers’ market segments and tradeshows.
  • Researches, evaluates and implements appropriate promotional programs to attract users to the website including hyperlinks and cooperative partnerships.
  • Provide content to the website to maximize rankings with search engines.
  • Leverages social media to support Bureau marketing and communication initiatives.
  • Develops and executes social media campaigns that support Bureau’s brand.
  • Maintains and updates all social media accounts.
  • Produces content for the social media platforms that best serve the Bureau including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, You Tube, LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Analyzes, measures and reports on social media accounts and effectiveness of social media campaigns.
  • Stays current with social media trends/best practices and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Stays current with online competitor presence and initiatives.
  • Works closely with DMCCVB partners to share their messages to raise awareness of the destination.
  • In conjunction with Director of Marketing and Communications, research, review and implement and evaluate advertising placement for digital promotions (SEM, SEO and digital marketing purchases)
  • Develop microsites for key annual city-wide events
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • College undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing journalism or related field and experience in digital marketing and social media management and/or training.
  • Experience working with and expert knowledge of social networking channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Google+, blogs, etc.) required.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS).
  • Strong communication skills

Position Relationships

Industry Associations and Organizations: Maintains memberships and actively participates in meetings and conferences related to position. 

Finance Department:  Responsible for budget management for Digital Marketing/Content projects.  Cooperate in following policies and procedures necessary in order to maintain sound fiscal controls including but not limited to the timely and accurate submission of expense reports and Purchase Orders.

Other Characteristics

May require varied hours and travel for meetings, tradeshows, etc.  Weekend work and irregular hours may be required from time to time.
