Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development and execution of marketing initiatives to promote Mahoning County as a tourism destination through strategic planning and execution of marketing and developmental programs, and serves as the primary spokesperson for the Bureau. Represent the County in regional and state-wide tourism organizations; attend trade shows, networking events and conferences. Plan and direct activities of staff to create a variety of marketing and outreach policies and programs. Track, enforce and process payments for the County’s Lodging and Excise tax rules and regulations; monitor hotel occupancy and gross sales. Responsible for department’s annual budget development and administration.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, advertising, management or public relations, with a minimum of five (5) years successful experience in destination marketing, tourism development, integrated communications or public relations; or any combination of training and experience which provides required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability for occasional overnight travel.
