OTA Members Needed to Evaluate Ohio State Parks
Great Opportunity to Enhance the Guest Experience in Ohio
Ohio has one of the nation’s most outstanding state parks collections. They are about to get even better thanks to your help!
“Secret Shopping” Ohio’s State Parks
The Ohio Travel Association is working with ODNR on a Blue Ribbon Panel exploring guest experiences at all state parks. Set up similar to a “secret shopper” experience, this project will explore pre-visit experiences – such as available online information, social media and call experiences, as well as what our guests experience during a visit. Features evaluated include staff interaction, signage, cleanliness, etc.
Information learned from these visits will be used to create a report with recommendations for enhancing the guest experience. Recommendations could include capital improvements, program changes, training or other ways to optimize a state park adventure for our guests.
How You Can Help
We are looking for volunteers to evaluate individual state parks. Evaluation surveys will be provided, as will mileage reimbursement. Limited reimbursement for staying at a state park campground or state-operated cabin will also be provided.
Upon signing up here for a park, you will receive a packet with survey and reimbursement forms, as well as detailed instructions on how to plan your visit.
Please recognize that ALL state parks will be evaluated; Blue Ribbon Panel members have already signed up for parks to evaluate, so your favorite park may already be claimed. Use this experience to not only provide valuable feedback but to also explore a new park.
Also, please sign up for a park outside your immediate area or jurisdiction. This will be the most fair way to evaluate. Rest assured that someone else will be visiting your favorite park.
Visits must be be conducted by mid-August.
