More American Travelers Feel Safe Traveling Outside of Their Communities

Longwoods International released their weekly travel sentiment study Sept. 15.
- Half of American travelers now feel safe to travel outside their communities.
- Visiting friends and relatives and road trips are of greatest intent for fall activities among travelers, with outdoor-type activities still leading the way.
- Overall, key sentiment indicators are still trending in the right direction.
- Travelers changing plans in the next six months is at its lowest point since the first wave of the survey. Same for those cancelling their travel plans outright.
- Over half of American travelers now report feeling safe dining and shopping in own community, a key factor to restarting local economies and growing consumer confidence in travel again.
