Ohio Open Doors

Created in 2016, Ohio Open Doors was designed to promote pride in Ohio's heritage and celebrate the National Historic Preservation Act. Ohio Open Doors is a statewide biennial event highlighting historic buildings and places. From Sept. 10–20, 2026, Ohio will open its doors to the public for special tours and programs, many of which are exclusive to this 10-day event.

Can We Be a Host Site?

Yes, if your historic place:

• Hosts at least one two-hour, history-themed event between Sept.10–20, 2026.
• Offers an event that is free, open to the public, and compliant with all local safety and access laws.
• Plans events unique to the Ohio Open Doors program.
