If you love travel and love Ohio, the job of Associate Editor, Custom Media for the Ohio Magazine division of Great Lakes Publishing is for you. It’s not just a job – it’s an adventure!

The Associate Editor will help us tell the stories of our clients. We’re looking for a savvy editor with experience in reporting, writing, project management and editing various forms of prose for our client content in travel and other specialty fields. Along with loving to travel, the ideal candidate must be detail oriented and have superior copyediting and proofreading skills, familiarity with AP style and inherent skill with editing and rewriting.

As an editor in our Custom Media department, this person should be professional and work well in a client-driven environment in which creativity and organization are critical. This position reports to the managing editor and serves as project manager and client liaison for multiple projects occurring simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

Assigns and edits stories for various client-driven products. Writes copy for client-driven products. Fact checks or assigns fact checking required by a project. Works directly with client as project manager and is responsible for deadlines. Collaborates with art directors, account executives and clients. Proofs and corrects pages in InCopy/InDesign. This person manages internal databases, is familiar with Excel and prioritizes multiple assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications:

A degree in communications, journalism, English or a related field. Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
