Grand Lake Region Visitors Center
The Executive Director of the Grand Lake Region Visitors Center will work within the strategic objectives determined by its Board of Directors and with tourism partners to market the area as a premier tourism destination. The Executive Director will manage all operations and activities, including providing direction to staff and ensuring proper fiscal and operational management.
Reporting: The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors. All other staff report to the Executive Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic
Work with the Board in its regular strategic planning process and annual review of the strategic plan. Take the lead in drafting each new plan and in revising with the Board as necessary. Develop an annual implementation plan with Board input and review.
Administrative
Assemble and manage the Grand Lake Region Visitors Center staff. Provide fiscal oversight for Grand Lake Region Visitors Center investments, budgets, and financial reporting. Propose annual budgets for Grand Lake Region Visitors Center operations and programmatic activities. Monitor monthly financial transactions. Report regularly to the Board on financial status.
Program Activities
Provide oversight and guidance on the development of new programs and program areas.
Representation
Advance the mission and image of Grand Lake Region Visitors Center by serving as its chief representative to all stakeholders including the organization’s Board, the Auglaize and Mercer County Commissioners, staff, members, partners, the media, local communities and general public.
Design and develop reports, publications, presentations, articles and other communications to disseminate and promote the activities of Grand Lake Region Visitors Center.
Development
Lead Grand Lake Region Visitors Center destination development activities. Identify and develop new destination development opportunities, develop partnerships, collaborations and seek sources for new revenues. Identify new opportunities to leverage resources in an effort to maximize impact.
Other
Perform other duties as assigned. Flexibility to work varied schedules including evening and weekends as needed.
Qualifications
The Executive Director will have extensive experience in the management of organizations of comparable size and/or mission and be knowledgeable in the areas of tourism, hospitality and marketing.
The Executive Director should typically have a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience; an advanced degree or equivalent experience; plus strong planning, interpersonal, communications, marketing and networking skills.
The Executive Director must be a resident of Auglaize or Mercer Counties or become a resident within 12 months.
