Guest Services & Promotions Coordinator

Visit Canton

The purpose of this position is to provide quality visitor information and service to visitors, event attendees, and other guests in the Stark County community.

The basic functions and major activities which must be performed to carry out the purpose of the position include:

  • Coordinate street team and mascot appearances for visitor information booths at events, utilizing a combination of staff, interns, and volunteers as needed
  • Assist with the execution of retail sales and merchandise displays
  • Coordinate visitor collateral distribution, displays, and inventory
  • Coordinate Visit Canton leisure tradeshow participation and booth operations
  • Coordinate Visit Canton welcome center promotions and special event activations
  • Assist with all visitor center operations and staffing as needed

Qualifications required to perform the duties of this position include:

  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Proficient in office software & computer skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Broad knowledge of Stark County preferred
  • Retail or Front line management experience preferred

Work Environment, Physical Requirements and Additional Information:

  • Rotating schedule at multiple visitor centers and events
  • Requires some travel, valid drivers license required
  • Includes evening, weekends, and special events
  • Requires setting up information booths and lifting up to 50 pounds

The Stark County Convention & Visitors’ Bureau, d.b.a. Visit Canton, is funded by a lodging tax administered through the Stark County Commissioners. The organization’s mission is to promote travel to Stark County.
