Help Expand the Ohio Historical Underground Railroad Trail

With International Underground Railroad Month coming up in September, TourismOhio is excited to announce plans to expand the Ohio Historical Underground Railroad Trail. This trail highlights Ohio's role in the Underground Railroad and the many sites that played a crucial part in this fight for freedom.

TourismOhio Seeks your Help! 

Do you know of a hidden gem related to the Underground Railroad in Ohio? They're looking for additional locations to add to the trail, but there are some key criteria:

• Public Access: The site must be open to the public and offer tours or other visitor experiences.
• Educational Value: The site should directly connect to the Underground Railroad or known Ohio abolitionists, providing educational opportunities for visitors.

Ready to submit your suggestions?

Please send your recommendations by Tuesday, July 9 to  dayna.brownfield@development.ohio.gov with the subject line "Ohio Underground Railroad Trail." In your email, include:

• Trail Stop Name(s): Identify the name of the location(s) you're recommending.
• Brief Description (1-2 sentences): Provide a short summary of the site's historical significance and its connection to the Underground Railroad.
• Website Link (if available): If the location has a website, please include the link.
• Location: Specify the city and county where the site is located.
